NCET’s Entrepreneur Expo scheduled

Tuesday, December 18th, 2007

Nevada’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology has scheduled an Entrepreneur Expo in Reno on March 15.

The expo will feature exhibits, speakers and panel discussions targeted toward entrepreneurs who want to start or grow a small business.

Dave Archer, chief executive officer of the NCET, said the event is expected to draw between 500 and 1,000 people. Last year’s inaugural event drew about 500 to hear 28 speakers and panelists and visit 32 booths.

He said this year’s expo will include 75 to 100 exhibitors, most of them companies and nonprofits that provide services to small businesses. The agency is accepting applications from exhibitors and potential sponsors, Archer said.

NCET’s Entrepreneur Expos are part of eWeek Nevada (www.eWeekNevada.com) a week-long series of events designed to celebrate and encourage Nevada’s entrepreneurs.

eWeek Nevada - Nevada’s Celebration of Entrepreneurs

Saturday, December 1st, 2007

Nevada was built by entrepreneurs.  That entrepreneurial spirit is alive today, with 85% of Nevada’s companies having fewer than 20 employees.  Recent studies show that Nevada’s future economic growth, vitality and diversity will continue to be depend on small businesses. The goal of eWeek (or Entrepreneurship Week) is simple: Celebrate and encourage Nevada’s entrepreneurs — and aspiring entrepreneurs.

Organizations throughout Nevada are coming together for a series of local events aimed at inspiring and assisting current and future entrepreneurs in Nevada.  Within eWeek, regional organizations ranging from schools to nonprofits will conduct activities, such as open houses, seminars, meet-and-greets with successful entrepreneurs to encourage all people to explore their entrepreneurial potential.

eWeek is coordinated by NCET, Nevada’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology, a statewide organization designed to encourage and empower entrepreneurs.
